2017 Chili’n on the Avenue Contestant Registration

September 16, 2017 – Noon to 8pm – North Ave / 65th-68th

  • There are two contestant categories – RESTAURANT and INDIVIDUAL.
  • You will automatically be designated based on your team name.


  • There are two submission categories – OPEN and SALSA.Registrants can enter one or both categories.
  • Registrants can enter one or both categories.
  • Up to two different types of chili can be entered per team.


  • All cook-off participants are encouraged to participate in the showmanship category
    competition. The goal is to decorate your cooking space to reflect your chili.
  • All entrants are automatically entered into showmanship.
  • Decorations can only be made of paper and/or other disposable goods and must be removed at
    the end of the event.


Prizes will be awarded for the following categories at minimum:


If there is enough variety in Chili entries, we will break up the entries into smaller categories based on type (beef, chicken, veggie, etc) and then will also award a “BEST IN SHOW”.

We will be awarding a total of $1,000 in CASH prizes! Teams/cooks placing 1st – 3rd in each category will be awarded a trophy (ribbon for showmanship)


  • All contestants will be given a 12’ by 12’ space into which cook and decorate. All equipment and supplies are the responsibility of the cooks, including but not limited to tents, tables, heat source, etc.
  • Power is not provided.
  • Please view the Event Schedule for details on set-up, cook begin time, judging time, etc. (Schedule will be provided via email to registered contestants and will be available on our website one week prior to the event.)
  • Participants are responsible for setting up, decorating, and cleaning their area after the event.


  • Required submission amounts in order to be eligible for the cash prizes:
    • Chili: 3 gallons
    • Salsa: 2 quarts
  • This is a NON-CASI Local Chili Cook-Off

  • Deadline for Pre-Registration is Friday, September 9th at 5:00p.m

    • $25.00 per team (includes up to 2 chili entries and 1 salsa entry)
  • Registration Before Deadline
    • $40.00 per team (includes up to 2 chili entries and 1 salsa entry)
  • If you are a sponsor, there is NO FEE for your entry, however, you must still fill out and submit this form to be entered into the competition.
